The Festival del Aguacero is a five-day celebration in Coquí, honoring ancestral knowledge, biodiversity, and cultural resilience. Set in a vital Hope Spot, it commemorates Afro-Colombian Day and the International Day for Biological Diversity, highlighting the link between community, culture, and conservation. This is the third version of the Festival.
The festival brings together local wisdom keepers, artists, youth leaders, scientists, educators, and travelers to forge new paths for environmental and cultural education.

Where Science Meets Ancestral Wisdom
Participants blend scientific knowledge and ancestral wisdom through talks with biologists, conservationists, and local elders, youth-led mangrove initiatives, and expeditions to witness sardine migrations and whale shark sightings along Colombia’s Pacific coast.
Drums of Life
Traditional music and dance performances are paired with educational programs in peace-building, featuring artists who will also perform in vibrant concerts.
School of Ancestral Wisdom
Workshops explore the richness of ancestral knowledge, from medicinal plants and artisanal fishing to native agriculture, alongside a local fiber dress exhibition and a cyanotype herbarium showcase.
Community Market
A lively marketplace offering local crafts, food, and fair-trade products, led by young master chefs and their mentors, celebrating the gastronomic treasures of the region.
Hope Spot Ceremonies
Local community traditions honoring the Gulf of Tribugá’s importance as a global Hope Spot for biodiversity and planetary health. pasa esto a español
